Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume 5 coming out on DVD, August 29. Family Guy #4 coming out in the fall. Smurfs to come out in 2007?
(Source:TV Shows on DVD) Here's some more news about animated television shows coming to DVD: - Lionsgate is releasing Volume 5 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, featuring 12 episodes of the 1980's animated series. Due August 29. - Warner Bros. announced they'll be putting out a Smurfs set sometime 2007. Not much more to it than that; I'll keep an eye out for further details. - Fox is pushing The Family Guy: Volume 4 to a fall release. As written on the Family Guy Blog, "'PTV' contains a whole gag that standards would not let us put on the air which may be the funniest thing in the whole damn show so watch out for it in the next group hitting stores in fall." So look out for that. - Warner Bros. is aiming Bah Humduck! A Looney Tunes Christmas at the Christmas rush. It's a straight-to-DVD featuring various Looney Tunes characters putting their own spin on Dickens' Christmas Carol, including Daffy Duck as Scrooge. Animation Guild Local 839's Business Rep Steve Hulett saw an early print and posted a positive review on TAG's blogsite. Some comments: "The animation and design are good, and production values are first rate. The characters, thank God, stay truer to Termite Terrace than Dickens. (i.e., the Duckster is as idiotic and accident-prone as he usually is, and Bugs is the same smart aleck)." If Hulett's professional opinion is worth anything, this should be a fun release. That's all for now. I'll post more news as they come available.
