Volume 1 of Cine-Manga adaptation sells over half-a-million copies.
(Source:icv2.com) Tokyopop's Cine-Manga adaption of Avatar: the Last Airbender Volume 1 has sold over 500,000 copies, due in large part to sales through Scholastic book fairs. This means that Avatar has now matched sales of the Spongebob Squarepants Cine-Manga. Avatar: the Last Airbender, created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, follows the story of Aang and his friends Kattara, Sokka and Toph as they try to save the world from the merciless Fire Nation, and evade their pursuer Prince Zuko. All I can say is: do you think a Volume 2 is forthcoming? Or Volumes 3, 4, 5, 6 . . .
