Casting director for Nightmare Before Christmas and Looney Tunes: Back in Action dies of breast cancer, aged 53.
(Source:Big Cartoon Database) Barbara Cohen, casting director for such films as Nightmare Before Christmas and Looney Tunes: Back in Action, died in Los Angeles May 27 of breast cancer. She was 53. Cohen was born in Dallas, and graduated from the University of Texas. She was a social worker before entering the entertainment business. In 1985, she became a casting associate at Disney. Three years later, she and Mary Gail Artz founded their own casting agency, Artz and Cohen. She was also the casting director for such live-action features as Rushmore, The Tailor of Panama, Frailty, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. She is survived by her husband, writer/producer Tom Huckabee.
