The Cartoon Network will debut Bleach, an anime based on the popular Viz manga by Tite Kubo, on its Adult Swim block on Saturday, September 9.

Bleach follows the story of Ichigo Kurosaki, a 15-year-old with the ability to see ghosts. Ichigo gains the powers of a Soul Reaper, and he learns he must find wayward souls and help them towards their new plane of existence.

Although Bleach has never previously aired in North America, the manga is a regular on Top 10 lists.

The series will debut on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block on Saturday September 9th at 11:30 pm (ET, PT), and will air on subsequent Saturdays.
