Check out the nominees for the 36th Annual Annie Awards. ASIFA-Hollywood sponsors the event on January 30, 2009.
The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, announced nominations today for the 36th Annual Annie Awards, which recognizes the year’s best animated features, television productions, commercials, video games and short subjects.
“On behalf of ASIFA-Hollywood, I would like to congratulate all of the nominees and award recipients for their outstanding work and look forward to a very exciting ceremony in January,” said president Antran Manoogian in the press release.

This year's Winsor McCay Award recipients - for those who have made exceptional contributions to animation over the course of their careers - are Mike Judge (Beavis and Butthead, King of the Hill), Disney/Pixar producer/director John Lasseter and Nick Park of Aardman Animation.
The June Foray award - for significant and benevolent or charitable impact on the art and industry of animation - goes to animator and instructor Bill Turner. Certificate of Merit awards go to Amir Avini, Mike Fontanelli, Kathy Turner, and Alex Vassilev.
The 36th Annual Annie Awards happens Friday, January 30th.
