Boomerang, the Turner Network channel dedicated to classic cartoons, is presenting a 24-hour, 10-day marathon beginning July 21. Each day will focus on a single classic character. Here's the run-down:
- Friday, July 21 - Daffy Duck as Duck Dodgers. This is the animated series based on Chuck Jones' 1953 classic short Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century.
- Saturday, July 22 - The Pink Panther. The animated series based on the DePatie-Freleng credits for Blake Edwards' spy spoof. This will include the Oscar-winning The Pink Phink.
- Sunday, July 23 - Tom of Tom & Jerry: This segment will include the award-winning shorts Yankee Doodle Mouse (1943), Mouse Trouble (1944), Quiet Please! (1945), Cat Concerto (1946), The Little Orphan (1948), The Two Mouseketeers (1951) and Johann Mouse (1952).
- Monday, July 24 - Dexter of Dexter's Laboratory: Dexter's Laboratory was The Cartoon Network's highest-rated series in both 1996 and 1997. Selected episodes include Mom and Jerry, Filet of Soul, and Sister Mom.
- Tuesday, July 25 - Lu of Mike, Lu & Og: Created, written and directed by Chuck Swenson, Mikhail Aldashin and Mikhail Shindel, this series originally aired on the Cartoon Network on November 12, 1999. It follows the adventures of exchange student Mike, as she ends up on a secluded island full of quirky natives.
- Wednesday, July 26 - Wednesday of The Addams Family: This is the animated series, which premiered in 1992. Fun fact: it features the voice of John Astin, who played Gomez in the original live-action series.
- Thursday, July 27 - Richie Rich: This block, featuring the "poor little rich boy," takes from both the 1995 comedy/mystery series, and classic fare from the Harvey library.
- Friday, July 28 - Baby Bugs Bunny of Baby Looney Tunes: The 2002 series that featured the classic Warner Bros. cartoon characters as infants.
- Saturday, July 29 - Scooby-Doo of What's New, Scooby-Doo?: Again, this is from the updated 2002 series, produced by Warner Bros.
- Sunday, July 30 - Batman of Justice League: This well-received series premiered on the Cartoon Network in November of 2001, featuring such classic DC heroes as Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter and Hawkgirl.
