Disney/Pixar film loses 43.9% of its audience but is still Number 1 at the box office.
(Source:Box Office Mojo) Disney/Pixar's Cars lost nearly 44% of its audience from last weekend, but it managed to stay on top of the box office. The CG animated movie performed according to analysts' predictions, making $33.7 million and holding off a strong showing by the live-action Nacho Libre which raked in $28.3 million at the box office. Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties took the #7 spot, with $7,2 million. That's far below the first film's initial take of $21.7 million. Cars has so far grossed $117 million in two weeks, inching closer to Dreamworks' Over the Hedge which earned $139 million over 5 weeks. That animated film rounded out the Top 10, making $4.3 million over the weekend.
