Renegade Animation has finished principal animation on its upcoming animated musical Christmas is Here Again. The flick previously had the unfortunate working title of Who Stole Santa's Sack?

Robert Zappia wrote and directed the movie, which stars the voices of Andy Griffith, Norm MacDonald, Jay Leno, Kathy Bates, Edward Asner and newcomer Madison Davenport. It follows the story of a young girl who attempts to recover Santa's magical toy sack along with a feisty elf, an ambitious reindeer, a fox and a polar bear. The movie now heads into post-production, with John Van Tongeren (The 440, Empire) composing the score.

Renegade created the film using a mix of traditional cel combined with Flash animation. The studio claimed that this technique allowed them to animate the film in nine months, using a small team of animators.

"By applying our traditional training and employing the latest animation tools, we have streamlined (the) process and made it more affordable," said Renegade executive producer Ashley Postlewaite. "We believe it is the future of 2-D animation."

Christmas is Here Again will be released in November of 2007.
