The Walt Disney Company announced that it had taken "appropriate action" against employees at Disneyland Resort Paris, who had simulated various sex acts while dressed as Disney characters. The backstage antics had been captured on a hidden camera, and the grainy footage released on video-sharing site YouTube.com (the clip has since been removed).
"The behavior shown on the video is unacceptable and inexcusable," a Disney spokesperson announced on Thursday. "The video was taken in the backstage area not accessible to guests. Appropriate action has been taken to deal with the cast members involved."
Disney did not say whether they had fired any employees over the incident.
The amateur footage featured an employee dressed as Goofy grabbing another employee (dressed as Minnie Mouse) from behind. She struggles to free herself, only to be grabbed from behind by a gigantic snowman. An employee dressed as Mickey Mouse then simulates sex with the snowman as Goofy does the same with chipmunks Chip n' Dale. Laughter is heard over the soundtrack as a French voiceover announces, "Disneyland backstage: it's hot!"
