The third poster for Aardman Studios/DreamWorks Animation's movie Flushed Away adds two new characters to the same concept.
(Source: www.impawards.com Here's the latest one-sheet for Aardman Studios/DreamWorks Animation's get-together, Flushed Away. As you can easily see, this poster is essentially the same as the original one-sheet, save for Kate Winslet's Rita character adding some ratty hotness, plus a mysterious red jewel and one of those shrieking slugs we've been seeing in the 2nd trailer. And of course, DreamWorks is claiming that this movie is "from the creators of Shrek and Madagascar." No one in North America wants to acknowledge the hard work and all-around coolness of Aardman Studios and a little movie called Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (which only won a fraggin' Oscar, for Cthulhu's sake!). Did Madagascar win an Oscar? Did Shrek win an . . . okay, I'll shut up now. While we're at it (yeah, I'm lousy at that whole "shutting up" thing), I'm not sure what significance of that red jewel Rita is holding, since I haven't seen it in any trailers. I'm choosing to regard this as a good thing, since I hate it when trailers show you all the good stuff in a movie. Then your fearless animation writer has to sit through the film, knowing that he's seen all the good bits. After that, there's nothing left to do but to fire up the flamethrower and flambé the projectionist. Flushed Away opens in theatres November 3rd. You can see the full poster over here: www.impawards.com/2006/flushed_away_ver3.html. (P.S.- For all you movie experts out there, both Shrek and Shrek 2 both won Oscars for Best Animated Feature Film. Bastards) (P.P.S. - The phrase "fire up the flamethrower and flambé the projectionist" was meant in a comedic and satiric context. Suite101 and this writer do not condone assaulting poor, helpless projectionists with a flamethrower simply because a movie sucks. The director is a much better choice.)
