Wes Anderson's adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic children's novel The Fantastic Mr. Fox has found a home at . . . Fox.

Fox Animation jumped to finance and distribute the movie after Sony/Revolution Studios placed the project in turnaround. Fox hopes to use The Fantastic Mr. Fox as a follow-up to their CG adaptation of another classic novel, Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who. That movie hits theatres in 2008.

Anderson and Noah Baumbach (The Squid and the Whale) wrote the script, adapting it from Dahl's 1970 novel. It hasn't been confirmed whether Anderson will work again with stop-motion maestro Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas). Selick, who previously animated the stop-motion sequences in Anderson's The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, was attached to the project while it was at Sony/Revolution.

The story follows Mr. Fox, who steals food from three mean farmers called Boggis, Bean and Bunce so he can feed his family. The farmers resort ever more outrageous means in their attempts to kill Mr. Fox.

Anjelica Huston, who previously worked with Anderson on The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and The Royal Tenenbaums, is in talks to voice a character in the movie. Jason Schwartzman (who starred in Anderson's Rushmore) is also in talks to join the cast.

The Fantastic Mr. Fox was previously adapted into an opera by Tobias Picker.
