Classic series to come to the big screen, Brian Henson says. Project still in early stages
(Source:muppetnewsflash.com) The Jim Henson Company co-CEO Brian Henson has confirmed that "yes, we are writing a Fraggle Rock movie and trying to put it together." He said it's in the initial script-writing and preplanning stages, and that fans of the classic series should not expect a finished product until 2007 or 2008. He said the movie is the #2 priority, right after The Dark Crystal sequel, Power of the Dark Crystal. Henson said that the movie will be a "revisiting" of the series. He said the plan is "to do something that sort of stands next to the Fraggle Rock series rather than be a continuation of the show." He also said that many of the original performers will return. It is also believed that Brian Henson will direct the movie, although he did not confirm this. Fraggle Rock originally ran from 1983-1987.
