Lock your lightsabers and tie down your taun-tauns: George Lucas is making another animated television series based on the Star Wars universe.

The filmmaker told Associated Press on Wednesday that he is producing an animated TV series called The Clone Wars. He says it could air as early as next year, but he hasn't found a network for it yet.

Like the Emmy-winning series that aired on the Cartoon Network from 2003 to 2005, it's set between the events of Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith. It follows the Jedi, led by Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda, as they battle the separatists led by the renegade Count Dooku. While the previous series used limited animation, this will be animated using CGI.

"It basically has all the main characters," from the second trilogy, Lucas told Associated Press. But he says none of the actors from the movies will reprise their roles. "There's nobody famous."

This isn't the only project on Lucas' plate: he's also considering re-releasing the original Star Wars trilogy in 3-D format, but says he has concerns about the technology.

He was also tight-lipped about the proposed Indiana Jones IV movie. "We're working on it," he says, " we haven't agreed on a script yet. We're basically still writing the script." Harrison Ford will return as the whip-cracking archaeologist, and Sean Connery will likely reprise his role as Indy's father.

By the way, George, if you're looking for voice-over actors for the new Star Wars: Clone Wars series, you might want to consider using one of the top guys in the business, a guy called Mark Hamill. Remember him?
