Groovie Goolies: Saturday Mourning Collection will feature interviews with Alice Cooper, Ron Chaney and Rob Zombie.
(Source: TV Shows on DVD) BCI has released the details on the upcoming Groovie Goolies: The Saturday Mourning Collection. This DVD set will include all the episodes of the 1971-era animated show, which featured 70's-style updates of such classic monsters as Count Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster and the Wolfman. Each episode will end with a rock song and associated video. Extras include a 45-minute "docu-comedy" featuring rockers Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie, Ron Chaney (grandson of famed movie monster Lon Chaney Jr.), Groovie Goolies head writer Jack Mendelsohn, and science fiction scholar Forrest J Ackerman. There is also audio commentaries, image galleries, a "Goolie-Get-Together Sing-a-Long," a Filmation documentary, script and series bible, and a music video for the song "True Blue Goolian" by Sacramento punk rockers The Groovie Ghoulies. The DvD hits shelves October 24, for $29.98 MSRP.
