Independent Film Channel will add Gunslinger Girl to its Friday night "Grind Hour," starting in January.
(Source: ICv2) The Independent Film Channel (IFC) announced that it will add Madhouse/Bandai's Gunslinger Girl to its Friday night anime line-up, starting next January. Gunslinger Girl, based on Yu Aida's manga, is part of the grand anime tradition of little girls with big weapons: it follows a team of cybernetically enhanced teenage girls who are trained as assassins and counter-intelligence agents. The 13-episode series ran from 2003 to 2004 while the manga is ongoing. It joins Basilisk on IFC's "Grind Hour," the channel's anime block. Gunslinger Girl airs at 11 p.m., and Basilisk at 11:30. IFC also announced they will air a 30-minute special about American films ripping off - sorry, Japanese horror movies influencing American film. It will be called IFC News Special: Terror From Tokyo, to air 7:30 p.m., on October 7.
