(Source: ICv2.com) Illumitoon announced that it has licensed its 3rd anime title, Masami Kurumada's B't X and B't X Neo. The anime follows the adventures of Teppei Takamiya, the caretaker of a farm in northern Japan. When the malevolent Machine Empire kidnaps his scientist brother, Teppei attempts to follow. However, the rescue goes awry and an injured Teppei is thrown into a junkyard to die. However, Teppei's blood revives a disgruntled warrior AI called B't X, who saves Teppei's life. The two develop a bond as they try to uncover the Machine Empire's diabolical plan, and fight other B'ts employed by the Empire. B't X started as a 16-volume manga, then became a 25-episode anime. A 14-episode OVA, called B't X Neo, concluded the series. Masami Kurumada, best known for the anime Saint Seiya, created and scripted the series. Illumitoon was formed by three former FUNimation executives. See here for more information.
