Media Blasters announced that they have licensed Higuri You's anime Gakuen Heaven for sale in North America. They expect to release the first DVD in January of 2007.

Gakuen Heaven is a 13-episode anime that follows the amorous goings-on at a prestigious all-boys high school. It was based on the PC game Gakuen Heaven: Boy's Love Scramble that was later adapted for Playstation 2, as well as becoming a manga, drama CD's, and anime.

This anime is unusual in that it is only the second boys' love anime that has been licensed so far for North American distribution. Boys' love (also called BL, or yaoi) animes have a predominantly female audience.

Right Stuf licensed the BL title Gravitation in 2004.

This November, Tokyopop will release the Gakuen Heaven manga in North America. The 2-volume manga will receive an 18+ rating.
