first look at pictures from upcoming Disney release
Here are some images from Disney's upcoming CG feature film Meet the Robinsons, due March 30.

The good folks at Animated News got a few images from the upcoming CG animated Disney flick Meet the Robinsons. The film features the voices of Angela Bassett, Stephen J. Anderson, Kelly Ripa, Tom Selleck and Adam West.
These images have a surprising War of the Worlds/apocalyptic feel to them. One image shows a little boy tied up and menaced by a floating top hat. Another picture shows the top hat's big brother destroying a city in a very War of the Worlds-inspired image. Could Disney be going for a PG rating for this movie?
Also keep in mind that this is a Disney animated movie, developed before John Lasseter took over the animation division earlier this year. Therefore, if you're thinking, "The animation isn't as good as Pixar's usual standard," that's because Pixar was nowhere near this movie while it was being made.
Here's the plot outline of Meet the Robinsons, based on the novel A Day with Wilbur Robinson by William Joyce (I pulled this synopsis off Wikipedia before editing it):
"The film follows Lewis, a brilliant twelve-year-old inventor. His latest and most ambitious project is the Memory Scanner, which he hopes will retrieve early memories of his mother and maybe even reveal why she put him up for adoption.
"But before Lewis can get his answer, the dastardly Bowler Hat Guy (along with Doris, his diabolical hat and constant companion) steals the Memory Scanner. Lewis has all but given up hope in his future when a mysterious boy named Wilbur Robinson whisks him away in a time machine, traveling forward in time to spend a day with Wilbur's eccentric family."
