Nelvana Limited and Decode Entertainment shows got 4 out 5 nominations for Best Animated Program or Series at the 21st Annual Gemini Awards.

The nominees are: Christmas special Atomic Betty No-L9 (Breakthrough Films & Television/Atomic Cartoons Inc./Breakthrough Animation), television series Bromwell High (Decode Entertainment Inc./Hat Trick Productions Ltd.), Jane and the Dragon (Nelvana Limited/Weta Productions Limited), Naughty Naughty Pets (Decode Entertainment Inc.), and Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends: The Prince, the Princess and the Bee (Nelvana Limited).

The nominees for Best Original Music Score for an Animated Program or Series are: Geoff Bennett, Andre Hirz and Ben Johannesen for the Jane and the Dragon episode "Shall We Dance?"; Jeff Danna and Steve Sullivan for Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends: The Prince, the Princess and the Bee; Ray Fabi for the Dragon 2 episode "Dragon Runs The Store"; Jono Grant for Episode 101 of Captain Flamingo; and Blaine Morris for the Poko episode "Poko & Bibi of the Arctic."

Nominees for Best Pre-School Program or Series include the animated Miss BG (Breakthrough Films & Television/Ellipseanime/Breakthrough Animation/Def2Shoot/TVO/TFO/France 5), Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends (Nelvana Limited/Absolute Pictures Ltd./Callaway Arts & Entertainment) and Poko (Halifax Film Company Ltd.).

The live-action/animated show Dark Oracle II (Shaftesbury Films Inc.) is nominated for a Best Children's or Youth Fiction Program or Series Gemini.

The Best Direction in a Children's or Youth Program or Series nominees include Brian Duchscherer, Stan Gadziola and Chuck Rubin for Poko's "Poko & Bibi of the Arctic"; Philip Marcus for Jane and the Dragon's "Dragon Runs The Store"; and Ron Murphy for "TrailBLAZE," Episode 212 of Dark Oracle II.

Best Writing in a Children's or Youth Program or Series nominees include Steven Westren for "Dragon Runs The Store," Dennis Heaton for the Naughty Naughty Pets episode "Sock It To Me," and Simon Racioppa and Richard Elliott for the Jane and the Dragon episode "A Dragon's Tail."

The Geminis will be presented November 4, at the River Rock Show Theatre in the River Rock Casino in Richmond, British Columbia. Global Television will broadcast the show.
