Dreamworks animated film made over $100 million at the box office.
(Source:Animated News) Proving the drawing power of animated feature films, Dreamworks' Over the Hedge has officially made over $100 million in at the box office. As of June 5, the movie earned $114,077,965 in domestic ticket sales. Rival studios are well aware of the power of animated, family-oriented films at the box office. At least three other studios are also offering similar films for contention this summer: Disney/Pixar's Cars, Paramount's Barnyard and Sony's Open Season. The first movie, Cars, hits theatres June 9. The last animated film to cross the $100 million mark was Twentieth Century Fox's Ice Age 2: The Meltdown which has posted $191.5 million in domestic ticket sales so far.
