Animated feature only drops 30% of audience despite X-Men onslaught
(Source:The Hollywood Reporter) Dreamworks' animated feature Over the Hedge gained 3rd place in ticket sales last weekend, earning $26.9 million. It only had a modest 30% decline from its opening weekend, as it held onto a core family audience uninterested in the live action X-Men: the Last Stand and The Da Vinci Code. It also shows the movie has the "legs" to overcome its disappointing opening weekend. Overall, the movie has earned an estimated $84.4 million. Over the Hedge will have plenty of time to make more profits before Pixar's Cars rolls into theatres June 9.
