Paramount Pictures buys option to develop Todd Rosenberg's webtoon, will produce as part of Comedy Central Films.
(Source:Animation News) Paramount Pictures has bought the option to develop Todd Rosenberg's webtoon Odd Todd, making it possibly the first webcomic to make the jump to feature film status. The film will come out under Paramount's Comedy Central Films banner. Rosenberg first developed Odd Todd after he was laid off from his job in the IT industry. He produced the semi-autobiographical webcomic independently before developing it for Comedy Central's website. Comedy Central and Rosenberg severed their relationship in 2004, but appear to have reconnected after Odd Todd refused to die. Rosenberg will write the screenplay, Jonathan Kesselman (Hebrew Hammer) is set to direct the film and Mike Karz will produce.
