Dreamworks' casting agents have been working overtime, getting ready for Shrek 3.
The next movie in Dreamworks' hit animated series will feature an elite strike force made up of Fairyland's most famous princesses. Cinderella (Amy Sedaris), Snow White (Amy Poehler), Rapunzel (Maya Rudolph), and Sleeping Beauty (Cheri Oteri) will join Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) as she tries to keep the kingdom of Far, Far Away from falling into the hands of the villainous Prince Charming (Rupert Everett).
Along with the aforementioned Ian McShane as Capt. Hook, John Krasinski, Justin Timberlake, and Eric Idle joins the cast.
The synopsis follows: Shrek (Mike Myers) must find the rightful heir to Far, Far Away when King Harold (John Cleese) falls ill. He recruits Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) to help find Fiona's rebellious cousin Artie (Timberlake) and turn him into a king. Along the way, they encounter Sir Lancelot (Krasinski) and Merlin the Magician (Idle).
Meanwhile, Princess Fiona and Queen Lillian (Julie Andrews) must contend with Prince Charming, who is mounting a coup d'etat with a horde of fairytale villains.
Shrek 3 will hit theatres, May 18, 2008.
