Dreamworks Animation releases several images from its upcoming feature movie Shrek the Third. Film opens May 18, 2007.

Sneak preview time: the good folks at DVDrama managed to get their hands on a couple of stills from the upcoming Shrek the Third flick.
There's been some serious drama about this movie. There's been a lot riding on the Shrek franchise ever since the second movie made a whopping $436 million at the box office. Also, the fat cats at Dreamworks Animation were crying in their champagne that Over the Hedge made a lousy $155 million during the Great CG Glut of 2006. Needless to say, with Paul Allen making waves at the box office, Dreamworks needs a financial boost that only a movie with Shrek in the title can provide.
To add even more fuel to the fire, a reader at Jim Hill Media claimed he had seen a preview for Shrek the Third and it wasn't all that good. You can read more about that story here.
Either way, the first pic shows Princess Fiona (voiced by Cameron Diaz) heading up a squad of paramilitary princesses, with Snow White (Amy Poehler), Rapunzel (Maya Rudolph), Sleeping Beauty (Cheri Oteri) and Cinderella (Amy Sedaris) looking to put the "fist" back in "pacifist."*
