Steve Buscemi, Lionel Richie and Dan Rather are some of the celebrity voices coming to Springfield in The Simpsons' 19th season.

Lionel Richie, Steve Buscemi and Placido Domingo are some of the celebrities lending their voices to The Simpsons’ 19th season, according to Coming Soon.

In the season premiere “He Loves to Fly and He D’Ohs,” which airs September 23rd, Homer gets a ride in Montgomery Burns’ corporate jet after saving his cadaverous boss from drowning in a mall fountain. Thrilled with the experience (and having R&B star Richie sing him a modified version of his hit “Say You, Say Me”), Homer resolves to find a job that allows him to fly everywhere. Stephen Colbert guests as his coach, enlisted to help Homer realize his dream.

Steve Buscemi guests in “I Don’t Wanna Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,” playing Dwight, a robber who Marge talks into giving himself up with a promise that she will visit him while he is in prison. When fear causes her to renege on her promise, Marge must face the consequences when Dwight escapes from jail and comes looking for her. That episode airs September 30th.

The October 7th episode “Husbands and Knives” features Comic Book Guy getting the shock of his life when a friendly hipster named Milo (Jack Black) opens a rival store just across the street. CBG finds his business in trouble when Milo starts bringing in comic book luminaries like Alan Moore (Watchmen), Art Spiegelman (Maus) and Daniel Clowes (Ghost World) to do meet-and-greets in his store. Meanwhile, Marge decides to open a women-only workout gym.

An upcoming episode of The Simpsons also features a Frasier reunion of sorts, as Kelsey Grammer reprises his highly popular character, the murderous Sideshow Bob. Frasier co-stars David Hyde-Pierce and John Mahoney also appear in the episode, voicing the roles of Bob’s brother and father respectively.

Other celebrity guests who will lend their voices to the multiple Emmy-winning show include Jon Stewart (The Daily Show), actors Matt Dillon and Maya Rudolph, anchorman Dan Rather, tenor Domingo, MTV News anchor Kurt Loder, song parodist Weird Al Yankovic, and actors Beverly D’Angelo and Topher Grace.

The long-awaited The Simpsons Movie will make its silver screen debut on Friday, July 27th. Gracie Films and Twentieth Century Fox are releasing the flick, with animation by Film Roman.

Extra Tidbit: The Simpsons have won 23 Emmy awards, 22 Annie awards and on Peabody award. In 1998, Time Magazine named The Simpsons the Twentieth Century’s greatest television series, and called Bart Simpson one of the 100 most influential people in the world, the only fictional person to make that list.
