Sony wins distribution rights for animated feature based on Marjane Satrapi's bestselling graphic novels.

Sony is now the North American distributor for an upcoming animated movie based on Persepolis, the highly-regarded graphic novels by Marjane Satrapi. Persepolis is an autobiographical account of her Iranian childhood and life in France. They have been extremely well-received both among graphic novel fans and connoisseurs of serious literature.
Production on the film is already underway, with Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud co-writing and co-directing. Voice talent includes Chiara Mastroianni in the title role, alongside Catherine Deneuve, Danielle Darrieux, and Simon Abkarian. The film will also be dubbed into English.
