(Source:ICv2) (I know this page is exclusively about animated film but there are some scoops I just can't resist, and this is one of them.) Mark your calendars, Neil Gaiman fans: the Man has said that Paramount will release the film adaptation of Stardust to theatres on March 9, 2007. Director Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake) and Jane Goldman wrote the script based on Gaiman's 1997 graphic novel, subtitled Being a Romance Within the Realms of Faerie. The story follows young Tristran Thorn (played by Charlie Cox), who ventures into the land of faerie to find a fallen star. Gaiman originally published Stardust 1997 as a graphic novel for DC/Vertigo, with illustrations by Charles Vess. In 1999, Avon Books convinced Gaiman to re-release Stardust without Vess' illustrations. Gaiman has two other films in production: Laika entertainment is making a stop-motion adaptation of his children's novle Coraline (due Summer 2007). He also wrote the screenplay for Robert Zemeckis' rotoscoped adaptation of Beowulf.
