Trinity Blood comes to Adult SwimThe Cartoon Network will show gothic horror anime after Bleach
The Cartoon Network brings Trinity Blood anime to its Adult Swim programming block. It makes its debut September 9, following fellow anime Bleach.
(Source: ICv2) The Cartoon Network announced another anime to its Adult Swim line-up. Gonzo's Trinity Blood, based on the novels by Yoshida Sunao, will debut at midnight (ET, PT) on September 9. It will immediately follow another anime, the highly-anticipated Bleach. Trinity Blood takes place in a post-Armageddon world where humans and vampires fight each other for survival. Although some want peace between the two races, a group of vampire extremists called the Rosenkreuz Orden want to keep the war going. To combat their influence, the Vatican puts together Special Operations "AX," a group that will stop at nothing to ensure humanity's survival. The anime features a surprising amount of humour for a horror anime, and an unusual, elongated animation style that works well with the subject matter. FUNimation is trying to steal Adult Swim's thunder by releasing the first 24 episodes on DVD, also in September. So that begs the question for anime fans: do you run out and buy the DVD, or wait for each episode to come out on cable? Decisions, decisions!
