It's always a good week when Jennifer Shiman ropes her rabbits and has them do another 30-Second Bunnies Theatre. This time, they're taking on The Grudge, a movie which has a less-than-stellar 5.7 out of 10 on IMDb's Approval Meter.
This spoof is a welcome return to form for Shiman and the bunny gang, after the let-down that was Napoleon Dynamite. maybe I didn't "get" the jokes, but that spoof simply didn't work for me.
The Grudge parody rocks a lot more, right from the opening lines: "It is said that when bunnies die in extreme rage or sorrow . . . Their emotions gather in the place where it happened. If you encounter their post-death fury . . . you're kind of screwed."
In short, I dig. You can check out The Grudge in patented Bun-O-Vision by clicking here. Shiman reports that the bunnies' next movie spoof will be Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill series.
Fun Fact: The Grudge was based on (read: ripped off from) 2003's Ju-On: The Grudge, which was produced in South Korea. Luckily, the flick's producers didn't have to deal with North Korea's movie-obsessed "Beloved Leader" Kim Jong-Il, who apparently likes to give his directors his "thoughts" on how a film should look, sound and proceed.
