Jeff Garlin (Arrested Development, Daddy Day Care) has joined the voice cast for WALL-E, directed by Andrew Stanton.

Jeff Garlin has quietly joined the WALL-E voice cast.

In a low-key announcement, Box Office Mojo noted that the rotund funnyman, best known for playing Mort Meyers in Arrested Development and Jeff Greene in Curb Your Enthusiasm, will voice an as-yet unannounced role in the Disney/Pixar film.

He joins Fred Willard (Best in Show, Monster House) who will play the CEO of the incompetent BuyNLarge Corporation. Willard will be the first non-animated character to actually appear on-screen in a Pixar film. Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo) is writing and directing the flick, while Thomas Newman (The Shawshank Redemption) will compose the music.

This movie is being seen as a huge risk for Pixar, in that it contains absolutely no dialogue for the first 1/3 of the film. However, the flick's been a getting a positive buzz among movie fans, with many people liking what they've seen so far of the project. However, Pixar's current movie, Ratatouille, hasn't been performing to predictions, despite stellar reviews.

WALL-E opens in theatres June 27, 2008.

Fun Fact: The music in the first WALL-E trailer was taken from Michael Kamen's score for Terry Gilliam's Brazil. Kamen was supposed to score Brad Bird's 2004 film The Incredibles, but passed away before he could.
