Here's a bittersweet animated short found on YouTube. (Updated November 20th)

Animation doesn't always mean family, and it often doesn't imply comedy. Here's a beautifully-done animated short a friend found for me on YouTube. It's called Kiwi! and it's made by animation student Dony Permedi, with assistance from David Chontos and music by Tim Cassell. It's about a flightless bird trying to realize his dream.

You can check it out here.

UPDATE: Thanks to the good folks at Cartoon Brew, here's some more information about Kiwi! It's a Master's Thesis film by Dony Permedi, a grad student at New York's School of Visual Arts. It became a "Featured Video" on YouTube on November 13th, and it's now the most linked-to video on the blogosphere, according to Technorati.com. Kiwi! is also in the Top 15 all-time favourited videos on YouTube, and over 2 million people saw it in the last week alone. Yes, you read that right: 2 million people.
