Star Trek animated DVD release date confirmed.

1970's-era Star Trek: The Animated Series will come to DVD on November 21st.

A while back, I wrote here that Star Trek: The Animated Series was tentatively scheduled to hit DVD shelves on November 21st. That date is now confirmed.

This show has received mixed reviews. Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry has gone so far as to disown the series entirely. On the plus side, it did feature almost all the original cast, with the glaring exception of Walter "Chekhov" Koenig (who wrote an episode). Granted, the animation isn't the greatest, but remember that there's been a lot of progress since 1973, when this series first came out. I would recommend this for Star Trek completists out there; it may not be The Next Generation, but it isn't The Star Wars Christmas Special either.
