Why I won't review ATHF flick

Well, it's official. Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theatres (nice rip-off of Borat, boys) won't be hitting cineplexes in the Great White North anytime soon. Scratch that: it may not be hitting cineplexes in the Great White North at all.

The controversial animated flick, which caused a bomb scare in Boston a couple of months back, will only debut in 800 theatres across the U.S.A. tomorrow. First Look, which is distributing the flick, wants to see how the box office goes before putting it into wide release.

"We have to see if it does really well in the States," said a First Look official, who preferred to stay anonymous.

It's not surprising that First Look is being cautious. When you factor in the plethora of bad reviews this flick is getting – vitriol usually reserved for an Uwe Boll production – it's apparent that ATHF-CMFFT won't be getting much love outside its core audience of 18 - 24-year-old males with a fondness for herbal enhancement (and I ain't talking ginseng). Actually, looking at some of the reviews, many people inside of that demographic aren't giving the movie much love.

So, the chances of yours truly seeing Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theatres (and reviewing it for this site) are pretty dismal. If projections are correct, this movie is going to tank before it goes into wide release.

And no, I'm not going down to Detroit just to watch a movie that I'm 99% convinced I'm going to hate. I have better things to do with my time . . . like alphabetizing my spice rack. Here endeth the rant.
