Hi. Again, it's been a long time since I last posted. You should check out YOUTUBE.COM and search for "japanese pork chop". Choose the third video down. Another one not as funny is "japanese polar bear". Another fine example of how American television has nothing on the Japanese.
I remember a "Fear Factor"- like show on Japanese television in the 70's or 80's.
There was a show I saw when I visited Japan. It was a haunted house setting, the contestants were children, probably age 6 and younger, in pairs. Much like Fear Factor, the kids had to compete in challenges while people who worked for the show jumped out in costume to frighten them. The first team that wasn't scared out of the house won.
There's even one that is totally NC-17 rated. Men shoot water guns at naked girls wrapped in toilet paper. The first guy to uncover the girl's breasts wins.
There's a new show on called Challenges of Fire where contestants attempt to complete tasks for $10,000. One has 4 year old kids on a street lined with small shops. The kid has 10 minutes to buy 3 specific item and get back to mom on their own. On a show called I'm Old Enough, the whole hour is devoted to following terrified children as they attempt to help the family out by running errands on their own.
There's a show that airs on the Spike TV called MXC, or Most Extreme Elimination Challenge. You've got to see it to believe it.

I just found another one on YOUTUBE.COM called "japanese tongue twister". Incredible!

It's been a long time, but I hope you will read this.
By the way, I live in Hawaii (and am Japanese-American). There's a basic cable channel that broadcasts Japanese programming. That's how I'm so familiar with most of this.
